Proclamation
WHEREAS, Activity Professionals are recognized, have contributed significantly
to improving the lot of our State’s institutionalized and dependent elderly
and physically challenged; and
WHEREAS, Activity Professionals work with health
care professionals, care providers and regulatory
agencies to enhance the lives of those served
by nursing homes and convalescent centers, retirement
homes and adult day care programs; and
WHEREAS, they assist in providing programs related
to community involvement, mental stimulation,
community services and all types of activities
related to maintaining normal life pursuits; and
WHEREAS, every activity designed by these professionals
is crafted to meet the needs of the individual
with the underlying values of maintaining a healthier,
more active mental outlook which enriches the
daily lives of the elderly and handicapped; and
WHEREAS, designating the week of January to Year
____ as Activity Professionals Week will recognize
these hard-working and dedicated individuals as
well as increase public awareness to the role
of these professionals play in improving quality
of life for many older and young Americans;
